Munnar and Kollukkumalai ExplorationDifficulty Level: Moderate Age Group: Suitable for 5 years and aboveOverviewKollukkumalai is one of the most scenic spots near Munnar, located at an altitude of around 8000 feet. It lies in the Theni district of Tamil Nadu but is just 32 kilometers from Munnar, Kerala. Known for having one of the most beautiful sunrise views in India, this place is a true nature paradise.Munnar, the crown jewel of South India's hill stations, is situated at the meeting point of three mountain streams — Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni, and Kundala. The name Munnar itself means three rivers in Malayalam. Located about 1600 meters above sea level, Munnar was once the summer retreat of the British. It still retains that charm with colonial cottages, lush tea gardens, rolling hills, sparkling waterfalls, and peaceful forest paths. It is also home to the rare Neelakurinji flowers, which bloom once every twelve years, turning the hills into a sea of blue.
