Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 28, 2026
GroupVoyage is an India-focused platform for discovering group trips and enabling approved organisers to manage their listings. This policy explains how we handle personal data when you browse the platform, create an account, claim a group, or manage organiser content.
Our services are intended for people and travel organisers in India and are governed by applicable Indian law.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, authentication credentials, account role, and verification information.
Session and security information
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. Session records may include a session identifier, expiry time, IP address, browser or device user-agent, and timestamps.
Organiser claim information
If you ask to manage a travel group, we collect the group you are claiming, the evidence you provide, the review decision, and related timestamps. Do not submit passwords, financial information, government identification numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
Public group and trip information
Approved organisers may submit or update group names, descriptions, websites, social-media links, contact details, images, trip details, prices, inclusions, exclusions, and booking links. Information entered into a public group or trip profile will be visible to anyone using the platform.
Communications and technical records
We collect information you send to our support address. Our infrastructure may also create standard technical and error logs needed to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.
2. How we use your information
- Create, authenticate, and secure your account.
- Review organiser claims and prevent false representation.
- Let approved organisers create and manage public group and trip listings.
- Provide support and send service-related communications.
- Detect abuse, investigate security incidents, and maintain the platform.
- Comply with applicable Indian legal obligations.
We process information to provide the services you request. Where applicable law requires consent, you may withdraw that consent, although doing so may prevent us from providing account or organiser features that depend on the information.
3. Public information and organiser responsibility
Group profiles and published trip listings are public. Organisers are responsible for ensuring they have permission to publish any personal contact information, photographs, or other personal data included in their listings.
Account credentials, session details, and organiser claim evidence are not displayed publicly.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited information:
- With hosting, database, authentication, email, and other technology providers that help us operate the platform.
- When you intentionally publish information in a group or trip listing.
- When required by Indian law, a court order, or a lawful request from an authorised public authority.
- To investigate fraud, security threats, infringement, or misuse of the platform.
- As part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or transfer of the platform, subject to applicable law.
Technology providers may process information in India or in other locations where they operate, subject to applicable Indian data protection requirements.
5. Cookies
We use cookies that are necessary for account authentication, session security, and core platform functionality. Disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in and organiser dashboard features from working.
If we introduce optional analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this policy and provide any notice or choice required by applicable law.
6. Data retention
We retain account information while your account remains active. We may keep claim reviews, security records, and limited account information for longer when reasonably needed to prevent abuse, resolve disputes, enforce our terms, or meet legal obligations.
Public listings may remain available after an organiser account closes if they are still part of our trip directory. We will remove or correct personal information where required by law or following a valid request.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so you should use a strong password and keep your account credentials confidential.
8. Your rights under Indian law
Subject to applicable Indian law, you may ask us to provide information about your personal data, correct inaccurate or incomplete data, erase data that is no longer required, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or address a grievance.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Some information may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
9. Children
Accounts and organiser features are not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. If you believe a child has created an account or submitted personal data, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. We will update the date at the top and provide additional notice when a material change requires it.
