Although a difficult and rewarding hike that requires patience, endurance, and mental fortitude to complete successfully, Kudremukh nonetheless rewards you with breathtaking views from its cloud-covered peak at its conclusion! The trail begins at the Forest Department Office, where permits and guides must be obtained before beginning to trek across coffee plantations and muddy roads with waterfalls to reach Ontimara for your first glimpse of the forest. Once in the forest, the path becomes steeper and more difficult to traverse. After travelling a short distance, however, you'll reach a flat area covered by an impressive stand-alone tree where seating arrangements have been put in place so that you may rest at this scenic locale.
